Oddworld Wiki

Hi! Welcome to the Oddworld Fandom Wiki!

Recently OWI has began to publish posts on their Twitter citing articles from this site, along with content that heavily implies that the wiki is in some way official or sanctioned.

We'd like to dispel this rumor now: The Fandom Wiki is 100% community run and has in fact been long plagued by information of dubious validity, despite the valiant efforts of its editors (whose job we really appreciate, keep up the good fight!). For this reason, we'd like to ask our readers to take everything here with a great chunk of salt, especially when it comes to content without valid citations.

If you wish to fight against misinformation, you're encouraged to contribute high-quality content to the wiki—that is content that's propped up by a trusted source (examples include: Oddworld.com, Magog on the March, or The Oddworld Library) and contain no headcanons, theorizing, or any further content not directly coming from Oddworld Inhabitants.

Thank you for your attention and understanding! Happy reading and editing!

Oddworld is, well, odd.

That's what keeps fans coming back to the series is the strange mix of characters, gameplay, and world. Another beloved series that shares many similar traits is the Earthworm Jim series of games. So which one is best? Vote below!

Characters
Oddworld is a series that has featured many characters, each of them incredibly unique. There are several different protagonists over the series, including Abe, Munch, and Stranger. Earthworm Jim almost exclusively revolves around one character, Jim. There are a slew of side characters though, as well as the characters created for the television series.

Gameplay
Earthworm Jim is known for its 2D platforming and action gameplay. It later branched off into 3D on the N64, but is best remembered for the first few games. Oddworld's games have been all over in terms of gameplay, from 2D puzzle and platforming to 3D First Person Shooter games.

World
Both Oddworld and Earthworm Jim feature very distinct and visual worlds. Oddworld is set on the continent known as Mudos. The games take part in several parts of the continent, and other continents have been seen in concept art. Earthworm Jim takes place in outer space. There are many surreal planets that Jim must do battle on to find Princess Whats-Her-Name.
