Oddworld Wiki

Hi! Welcome to the Oddworld Fandom Wiki!

Recently OWI has began to publish posts on their Twitter citing articles from this site, along with content that heavily implies that the wiki is in some way official or sanctioned.

We'd like to dispel this rumor now: The Fandom Wiki is 100% community run and has in fact been long plagued by information of dubious validity, despite the valiant efforts of its editors (whose job we really appreciate, keep up the good fight!). For this reason, we'd like to ask our readers to take everything here with a great chunk of salt, especially when it comes to content without valid citations.

If you wish to fight against misinformation, you're encouraged to contribute high-quality content to the wiki—that is content that's propped up by a trusted source (examples include: Oddworld.com, Magog on the March, or The Oddworld Library) and contain no headcanons, theorizing, or any further content not directly coming from Oddworld Inhabitants.

Thank you for your attention and understanding! Happy reading and editing!

Squeek concept art

Possible, but unconfirmed, concept art of Squeek

Squeek was supposed to be the third hero of the Oddworld Quintology, his game being Oddworld: Squeek's Oddysee to serve as the titular main protagonist, with Munch returning as the deuteragonist and Abe as the tritagonist. Neither his appearance nor background is known.

Background[]

According to an interview[1] with Lorne Lanning, he reveals that the Vykkers had been making robotic life-support devices so they could repossess people's body parts, similarly to how one would get evicted. They'd stick whats left of the person in a clunky robotic form and toss them out in the street. Squeek would have been a character like this.

The Brain Slurg Misunderstanding[]

It is a commonly accepted (but nonetheless wrong) factoid in the community, that either Squeek himself is a so-called "Brain Slurg" or that it's a creature that he uses to control others. Neither is true and they both stemmed from a single misunderstanding.

In the comment section of one of the Dear Alfs, Alf jokingly replied to a question[2] that to play Squeek's Oddysee, you'll need to use a Brain Slurg to jack into your own mind. This was a reference to Futurama.[3] However, a previous editor of the wiki took the answer seriously and created an article titled "Brain Slurg", which contained false information compiled from further facetious responses by Alf. To stop further misinformation, this page's content was removed and it now redirects here.
