Oddworld Wiki

Hi! Welcome to the Oddworld Fandom Wiki!

Recently OWI has began to publish posts on their Twitter citing articles from this site, along with content that heavily implies that the wiki is in some way official or sanctioned.

We'd like to dispel this rumor now: The Fandom Wiki is 100% community run and has in fact been long plagued by information of dubious validity, despite the valiant efforts of its editors (whose job we really appreciate, keep up the good fight!). For this reason, we'd like to ask our readers to take everything here with a great chunk of salt, especially when it comes to content without valid citations.

If you wish to fight against misinformation, you're encouraged to contribute high-quality content to the wiki—that is content that's propped up by a trusted source (examples include: Oddworld.com, Magog on the March, or The Oddworld Library) and contain no headcanons, theorizing, or any further content not directly coming from Oddworld Inhabitants.

Thank you for your attention and understanding! Happy reading and editing!

Shamcir

A typical Shaman Circle.

Shaman Circles are ancient stonehenge-like structures built by the Mudokons in order to perform sacred rituals or spells. The circles are known to possess great spiritual energy(especially when utilized by a large number of chanting Mudokons). An example of this can be seen in Abe's Oddysee in which a group of roughly twelve Mudokons and a Shaman known as Big Face performed a large scale magic incantation to create a lightning storm over RuptureFarms. The circles can also be used to teleport a group of people(usually Mudokons) to a designated area.

In Gameplay[]

In Munch's Oddysee, a Shaman would appear at a Shaman Circle to inform the player of their latest missions or to provide useful and usually enlightening tips. If the player has a Quarma rating of under 50%, the Shaman will scold Abe and Munch for their actions.

Appearances[]

Trivia[]

  • If you stand in the middle of the circle and activate it, you can hear the Shaman say "Outer ring, stupid! Stand in the outer ring!"
  • Only in the PlayStation 3 version of Munch’s Oddysee is the player able to jump whilst standing in either rings of the circle, since the action button used to replay the Shaman’s message in that release is separate from the jump button.
