Oddworld Wiki

Hi! Welcome to the Oddworld Fandom Wiki!

Recently OWI has began to publish posts on their Twitter citing articles from this site, along with content that heavily implies that the wiki is in some way official or sanctioned.

We'd like to dispel this rumor now: The Fandom Wiki is 100% community run and has in fact been long plagued by information of dubious validity, despite the valiant efforts of its editors (whose job we really appreciate, keep up the good fight!). For this reason, we'd like to ask our readers to take everything here with a great chunk of salt, especially when it comes to content without valid citations.

If you wish to fight against misinformation, you're encouraged to contribute high-quality content to the wiki—that is content that's propped up by a trusted source (examples include: Oddworld.com, Magog on the March, or The Oddworld Library) and contain no headcanons, theorizing, or any further content not directly coming from Oddworld Inhabitants.

Thank you for your attention and understanding! Happy reading and editing!

Scrabania is a desolate region, as well as the homeland of both the Scrabs and an extinct tribe of mudokon warriors, the Mudanchee. A sun-blasted wilderness, Scrabania serves as one of the great trials which must be completed in order to gain the power of Shrykull (the other being the land of the Paramites: Paramonia).

Description[]

Scrabania is one of the driest places on Mudos. The most notable feature about the area is the large number of buttes that stand tall above the consistent sandstorm that coats the ground. In fact, the lowest levels of Scrbania have never been seen in concept art or the games themselves. Great statues of Scrabs litter the plains, some rivalling the buttes in height.

While at first appearing as little more than a scorching desert with nothing to see, on closer inspection it soon becomes apparent that Scrabania is full of both flora and fauna. Aside from the eponymous Scrabs, there are also other creatures such as Elums, bats, and bees. An entire assortment of industrial creatures, including both Sligs and Slogs, have been ordered here for unknown reasons. Most likely they engaged in hunting scrabs.

Few Scrabs roam the buttes at the time the games take place, dying out due to overhunting by RuptureFarms. The greatest density of Scrabs live in the great stone temple that lies at the heart of the desert. The temple itself is thought to be a very sacred building for the Mudanchee civilization who once resided here. It contains many chambers full of tests, perils, and pitfalls, all of which Abe survived in order to gain the power of the Shrykull.

Abe Well Balloon Comparison updated

Comparison images with Abe for reference

Concept art explains that the windmills seen in the background are made of animal bladders sewn together. These balloons can be both inflated and deflated. They are always stationary, never seen moving, unlike the windmills in Paramonia. The windmills generally have the symbol of the "Wind Well" on them, and are often pointing towards a well or located within the general vicinity of one. It's unknown if these windmills help power the wells.
