Royal Jelly is a health-increasing item represented by a golden glob with a swirling golden aura emanating from it. They appear throughout Oddworld: Soulstorm both in the open and in secret areas.
Gameplay Function[]
Royal Jelly is a mysterious item, never referred to outside of its own tutorial. When Abe collects one glob, it dissipates into several golden particles, that collate in the HUD where the health meter is. It will always completely fill Abe's health, even past its natural maximum. This allows Abe to survive for a half second more sub-machine gun fire as he would otherwise. Against more powerful weaponry, it has little effect. The health refill is most useful when Abe has just caught on fire, as Abe is especially vulnerable after extinguishing himself.
There is no level where Royal Jelly does not appear. In levels with few foreground Mudokons, Royal Jelly serves as the sole reward for finding secret areas, but it can also appear alongside Mudokons that need saving through bird portals.
