Oddworld Wiki

Hi! Welcome to the Oddworld Fandom Wiki!

Recently OWI has began to publish posts on their Twitter citing articles from this site, along with content that heavily implies that the wiki is in some way official or sanctioned.

We'd like to dispel this rumor now: The Fandom Wiki is 100% community run and has in fact been long plagued by information of dubious validity, despite the valiant efforts of its editors (whose job we really appreciate, keep up the good fight!). For this reason, we'd like to ask our readers to take everything here with a great chunk of salt, especially when it comes to content without valid citations.

If you wish to fight against misinformation, you're encouraged to contribute high-quality content to the wiki—that is content that's propped up by a trusted source (examples include: Oddworld.com, Magog on the March, or The Oddworld Library) and contain no headcanons, theorizing, or any further content not directly coming from Oddworld Inhabitants.

Thank you for your attention and understanding! Happy reading and editing!

"You woke me for rumors? For silly conspiracy theories? Damn it, there is no Abe guy! There is no uprising! Molluck burned down his own damn farm! We know this because never in history has a Mudokon beaten a Glukkon ever!"

-Aslik on Mudokon uprising rumors.

The Mudokon resistance, also known as the Spirit of 1029, is a revolutionary group of freedom fighters formed after the destruction of RuptureFarms. They aim to free their fellow Mudokons from the Industrialists, help anyone else suffering under their oppression, and eventually defeat the Industrialists entirely.

Description[]

The Spirit of 1029 (named after the factory code of RuptureFarms) is a group of Mudokons, enslaved and escaped, who seek to violently overthrow the system of factories built across Mudos.[1] Collaborating with the natives, these Mudokons try to relearn their traditions and undo the effects of Magog propaganda. The group is mainly focused around the achievements of Abe, and those involved with the rebellion will immediately follow Abe whenever he shows up.

Oddworld: Soulstorm[]

The Spirit of 1029 makes several direct appearances in the Oddworld: Soulstorm ARG, interacting with users and reacting to messages from Ed or Magog-related propaganda.

While the Spirit of 1029 makes few direct appearances in Oddworld: Soulstorm, evidence of a Mudokon resistance exists within the reactions of worker Mudokons to Abe and the appearance of weaponized consumer products (i.e. Brewnades, Fizzy Pow, IED Stun Mines) inside worker lockers. The Unamed Messenger who delivers the Amulet from the Keeper, and the Mudokon who smuggled the Projekt Soulstorm Blahtta Tape, are thought to be members of the Spirit of 1029 as well. The most direct appearance is in the level "The Yards", which takes place in the aftermath of a Mudokon riot at the FeeCo Yards. Graffiti of the Spirit of 1029's sigil is sprayed over the walls, Mudokons are either in hiding or directly guarded by Sligs, and a large collection of antidote ingredients has been collected for Abe to load onto the rebellion's train.
