Morguer is a Glukkon that appears in Oddworld: Soulstorm as one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Aslik). He is the CEO and Bonesman of Necrum Mines and holds the Seal of the Grand Lodge Diggers Guild.

Oddworld: Soulstorm[]

Morguer appears as the head of the Necrum mining operation, a position that was not explicitly held by anyone in Abe's Exoddus, though it's often assumed that Director Phleg filled that role. His first appearance is in the cutscene between Slig Barracks and Necrum, where he is apparently trying to reach the Brewmaster for an unknown reason. Due to Abe the Mudokon's earlier meddling, the Slig Barracks Comms Tower than managed communications had been shut down, making this effort pointless. According to the slig that Morguer is speaking to, the Mudos communications have only gone down once in the slig's lifetime (due to a hurricane). The Slig also relays the rumors of Abe's supernatural rebellion at RuptureFarms, to which the Baron skeptically responds, "Did Molluck really burn down his own farm? Or is the Brew failing us?" Morguer tells the slig to continue in its efforts to reach the Brewmaster.

During the good ending, Morguer takes the trip to Soulstorm Brewery himself to meet with the Brewmaster, where he meets Ludwig von Aslik. They both enter a meeting with the Brewmaster over the Abe led revolts that tore through their own facilities, accusing the Brewmaster's 'solution' to have failed them. The Brewmaster blames Molluck for starting the rebellion, and requests Morguer and Aslik's help in putting the attack on Soulstorm Brewery to its knees. Unbeknownst to both of them, Molluck's head slig had convinced both Aslik's and Morguer's guards to defect and, with a few promises from Molluck, turned on their former masters, executing Morguer, Aslik and the Brewmaster via improvised firing squad. During the bad ending, he is instead killed in the Brewery's explosion.

  • This character is referred to as Glukkon 2 on the official Soulstorm website. In the artbook Oddworld: Soulstorm - The Art of the Video Game, his character was referred to as "Baron".
  • He has a prominent lisp.
  • He wears a military style attire; a black high collar jacket with matching jodhpurs (military breeches), and heavy army boots. His jacket also has collar patches with insignias matching the Grand Lodge Diggers Guild medal he wears around his neck.
  • He seems to serve as the reboot quintology’s replacement for both Director Phleg (both Gluks are the heads of a facility involving mining bones at Necrum) and General Dripik (both gluks have a prominent lisp and also share a very similar voice).
  • Morguer has spike-like protrusions on the underside of his cranium; a feature never seen before in any other Glukkon in the games.
  • Morguer's name is a play on the word "Morgue", a place used for the storage of human corpses awaiting identification, autopsy, or burial.
