Oddworld Wiki

Hi! Welcome to the Oddworld Fandom Wiki!

Recently OWI has began to publish posts on their Twitter citing articles from this site, along with content that heavily implies that the wiki is in some way official or sanctioned.

We'd like to dispel this rumor now: The Fandom Wiki is 100% community run and has in fact been long plagued by information of dubious validity, despite the valiant efforts of its editors (whose job we really appreciate, keep up the good fight!). For this reason, we'd like to ask our readers to take everything here with a great chunk of salt, especially when it comes to content without valid citations.

If you wish to fight against misinformation, you're encouraged to contribute high-quality content to the wiki—that is content that's propped up by a trusted source (examples include: Oddworld.com, Magog on the March, or The Oddworld Library) and contain no headcanons, theorizing, or any further content not directly coming from Oddworld Inhabitants.

Thank you for your attention and understanding! Happy reading and editing!

Physical Appearance[]

The Masked Shaman is an otherwise unnamed character that appears in the intro cutscene of Oddworld: Soulstorm. The Masked Shaman is a Mudokon with green skin, and a large mane of red and yellow feathers on the back of his head. The Masked Shaman wears a long and elaborate loincloth (seemingly made up of multiple segments) and a series of leather straps that adorn his wrists and forearms. The Masked Shamans Mask is large and pale with big slanted eyes and various beads dangling off the edge of the mask.

Overview[]

The shaman is seen initially trying to convince Abe to cut his mouth stitches, going as far as to refer to them as "strings of oppression". Abe refuses however, stating that his stitches are all that he has left of his illusive mother. The Masked Shaman continues to warn Abe, telling him that the relative safety the Mudokon's now have in the hideout will soon be disrupted. As the Masked Shaman says this, Abe's followers realize that they have been discovered, and begin to panic. In the chaos the hideout begin catch fire destroying the Mudokon settlement. The Shaman tells Abe that, "the fate of your entire people is up to you" before the ceiling collapses and the Masked Shaman is seemingly crushed by burning wood. While the Masked Shaman is presumed to be dead his disembodied voice can heard throughout the raid on Monsaic sequence.
