The Lighter is one of the many craftable items presented in Oddworld: Soulstorm. It can only be stolen, as no vendos exist that sell it.

A relatively late game item first found in Slig Barracks, the Lighter is a normal pilot light used for a quick way to light something up. Abe cannot use these directly, and are only used to craft other items. The ability to set things alight in the game world is given to flares.
The lighter is used to craft two of the most elusive items in the game: the Brewnade and the Flamethrower. Due to how both of these items are only useful in combat and not for level exploration (like fizzy pow and its ingredients), the lighter is one of the rarest backpack items.
