The Hand Torch is a handheld electric torchlight and is the last item found in Soulstorm within The Sanctum.
It acts as, essentially, the upgrade to the Flare. It is the only other tool capable of scaring Sleeches. However, it only lights up what is in front of Abe, making him vulnerable to being attacked by Sleeches from the rear, whereas the Flare makes Abe safe from all fronts. While its light is much brighter, it will go out after about 15 seconds, flickering as it nears the end of its charge. It takes around 2 seconds to recharge to full.
