Flamethrower Sligs are elite close-combat Sligs, armed with the dreaded Flamethrower and carry a fuel tank for additional storage. They are one of the most powerful variety of Sligs encountered in Oddworld: Soulstorm and wear specialized fireproof facemasks.
Appearing much later in the game, Flamethrower Sligs are a rare sight, appearing in only a few levels. Nevertheless, these are one of the most dangerous Sligs in the game. Although their range is short, the Flamethrower can easily ignite Sligs, Mudokons, Slogs, Wooden Crates, Explosives and Brew Bottles making them incredibly chaotic. To make matters worse, they are tanky, being the only beings invulnerable to fire from even the Flamethrower and wearing a hardhat, protecting him from headshots.
Possessing a Flamethrower Slig grants Abe one of the most useful 'allies', creating a entire firewall of chaos. The fact that they are invulnerable to fire makes taking risks even greater. They are, however, a incredibly rare sight and their flamethrowers lack the range as Abe's own homemade flamethrower.
