Oddworld Wiki

Hi! Welcome to the Oddworld Fandom Wiki!

Recently OWI has began to publish posts on their Twitter citing articles from this site, along with content that heavily implies that the wiki is in some way official or sanctioned.

We'd like to dispel this rumor now: The Fandom Wiki is 100% community run and has in fact been long plagued by information of dubious validity, despite the valiant efforts of its editors (whose job we really appreciate, keep up the good fight!). For this reason, we'd like to ask our readers to take everything here with a great chunk of salt, especially when it comes to content without valid citations.

If you wish to fight against misinformation, you're encouraged to contribute high-quality content to the wiki—that is content that's propped up by a trusted source (examples include: Oddworld.com, Magog on the March, or The Oddworld Library) and contain no headcanons, theorizing, or any further content not directly coming from Oddworld Inhabitants.

Thank you for your attention and understanding! Happy reading and editing!

The Dial Phone is a modern, industrial invention seen many times throughout the Oddworld franchise.

Function[]

The Dial Phone is used by many of the Industrialist races of Oddworld as a means of communication between individuals who are to far away to speak in person. The Dial Phone can record audio and play back unanswered messages via a voicemail system.

Physical Apearence[]

Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee- The Dial Phone is first seen in the bad ending for Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. Humphrey uses it to speak to Lady Margaret about the current status of her lung transplant. This phone has two tape reels with a small speaker located inbetween. Below the speakers are a set of typewritter-esque keys with multiple numbers ranging from 1 to 12. The top of this phone is greatly obscured, but there's a small cordless ear-piece at the top used for hearing.

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath- In Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, the Dial Phone takes on a new simplfied appearance. Having a series of keys located at the base with a large funnel shaped speaker at the top. This phone also comes with a cordless ear-piece.

Oddworld: Soulstorm- In Oddworld: Soulstorm, the Dial Phone takes on a similar appearance to the phone seen in Stranger's Wrath. The only key differences being the fact that some phones are more simple in there designs when other phones may possess ornate details. These phones also have a system were they can be controlled via a series of pedals located on the floor, making them more accessible to any Glukkon users.
