Oddworld Wiki

Hi! Welcome to the Oddworld Fandom Wiki!

Recently OWI has began to publish posts on their Twitter citing articles from this site, along with content that heavily implies that the wiki is in some way official or sanctioned.

We'd like to dispel this rumor now: The Fandom Wiki is 100% community run and has in fact been long plagued by information of dubious validity, despite the valiant efforts of its editors (whose job we really appreciate, keep up the good fight!). For this reason, we'd like to ask our readers to take everything here with a great chunk of salt, especially when it comes to content without valid citations.

If you wish to fight against misinformation, you're encouraged to contribute high-quality content to the wiki—that is content that's propped up by a trusted source (examples include: Oddworld.com, Magog on the March, or The Oddworld Library) and contain no headcanons, theorizing, or any further content not directly coming from Oddworld Inhabitants.

Thank you for your attention and understanding! Happy reading and editing!

Fangus Klot is the main protagonist of the cancelled Oddworld Inhabitants title The Brutal Ballad of Fangus Klot.

Background[]

Fangus Klot was taken away from his familiar forested hills and popberry fields, to be enslaved as a pit fighter for a race known as the Vamps. Fangus then engaged in a series of fights with increasingly powerful opponents, culminating in a fight with a huge and rabid fighter. In the battle, this fighter bit Fangus, infecting him with rabies. The fighting caused enough damage to the arena that it allowed Fangus to escape. With the help of his rabid flock, it became Fangus's mission to free Fangustan from the invading Industrialists before he succumbs to his rabies.

History[]

Fangus was intended to appear in the spin-off game titled The Brutal Ballad of Fangus Klot. However, due to creative differences and budgetary restraints, this game was ultimately cancelled as Oddworld Inhabitants would temporarily close its doors in April of 2005. That last time Fangus Klot was ever officially acknowledged by Oddworld Inhabitants was during a poll when Oddworld Inhabitants asked fans what they wanted the next Oddworld installment to be. Some of the titles purposed on the poll included an HD remake of Abe's Exoddus, a sequel to Strangers Wrath, and The Brutal Ballad of Fangus Klot, but in the end, the final results of the poll eventually led to Fangus being shelved and Oddworld Inhabitants going forward with the release of Oddworld: Soulstorm.
